THE GREAT WHITEOUT

IMG_4361

Spring is beyond here and to me that means embracing all things bright + white. I have had this Balenciaga bag for a couple of years and nothing excites me more than breaking it out for the season again (although I do not follow any when to wear white rules, I just find it to be a bit bright for Fall + Winter).

IMG_4587

I cant stop Valentino rockstuds. I know, it’s so a trend that will pass, but for some reason I am still loving it. I have these sandals in a couple of colors and just adore their pizazz. I have such a hard time wearing flats and feeling cute (I know, it’s ridiculous), but these always make me feel like I am dressed up and look good!

IMG_4362

My go-to outfit for all things warm days is most definitely a fun blouse (or tank) front tucked into jean shorts. It’s just super easy and still looks chic. This boho, breezy blouse from Intermix is one of my all time faves. The sleeves, the fun print, the sheerness all make it so fab. I paired it with these dark high waisted jean shorts from A Gold E (a brand I had never tried before and now love!).

IMG_4363

Since I am totally on a white kick, I continued the madness with these super fun sunnies from Barton Perreira. I love love how novel and different they are! My House of Harlow locket and Shashi necklaces were the simple additions this outfit needed. White accessories can definitely be cheesy if not done right, but when chosen and worn correctly they are so fresh.

PRETTY POMS & COOL CULOTTES

IMG_4353

I have to admit, when the culotte trend first emerged I wanted nothing to do with it. I guess because I lived through the whole capri trend and never really found it to be flattering on anyone (right?). The difference with culottes, that I like, is that they are wider (which makes them way more flattering).

I fell in love with these lovelies, by Loup, because they are high waisted and have the most fun tie waist (another always flattering aspect). They are a super comfy stretchy linen/cotton mix, which makes them so wearable. My exact style is no longer available in black, but is available in white (so cute) and also here is another style by them in black.

IMG_4354

I paired them with this dreamy ruffled crop top (not too spendy at $98!) from Lovers & Friends. Does it get any more feminine? I adore this top and cant wait to wear it with high waisted denim and shorts all Summer long.

IMG_4357

One of my favorite color combos is black, white and red. SO classic and chic, right? That’s why my pom-pom adorned red heels from Aquazzara were a must with this look. I am dead over these beauties. Total night out on the town perfection!

Just for fun, I added another pop of color with my favorite turquoise cuff from Natalie B. I can’t stop this gem. It’s just so good!

IMG_4582

My essential (I literally use it more than any other I own) Givenchy black “Antigona” bag was the perfect bag for this fun look as it’s simple, but fun. For sunnies I went with my also essential Illesteva’s.

IMG_4358

What I love about the culotte trend is that it’s definitely a step up from just throwing on denim, it can be a fun switch up for a night out or a chic choice for work. You could easily pair them with a simple button down to make them more work appropriate (vs the crop top I chose). I also love that they are cute on many shapes. I think these would be even better on someone with more curves than me!

FOLK TOWN FLORALS

03.17.2016 Currently Caro-39

Back in boho, but this time with a boho twist. Living in SoCal always has me lusting after beachy + chic pieces that I can easily throw on during the day. This Spell & the Gyspy dress is exactly that. Billowy sleeves, a tie waist and the most fab mix of colors. I love pieces like this that you can put on during the day with a simple gladiator flat or even a flip flop and still look totally cute.

I paired this fun dress with these totally end all Joie lace up wedges. If you are on the search for a comfy wedge, these are them. They come in an array of colors and are seriously so easy and wearable! Adore + a half.

IMG_4365

I didn’t want to take away from the dress, so I kept my accessories simple with this Shashi necklace and my go-to House of Harlow locket. I added this J.Crew belt (old, but similar here)to give it a more finished look.

My pink mirrored Illesteva’s and this (super old, circa 2003!) dusty pink Balenciaga clutch were the perfect finishing touches to an already super colorful look. I am all about color and fun prints for Spring. I know it can be intimidating to try, but I always love when I see others going for it. Just remember to keep your accessories simple.

RUFFLED ROMPER & SOME ROCKER EDGE

IMG_4344

This Shakuhachi romper. I just can’t even explain how much I adore it! To start, I love that it’s denim. I also love the oversized ruffled neckline. It’s just screams fun, right?

IMG_4349

Sans belt this look was just ok, but with this fun B-Low the Belt creation it became fab. I have a new obsession with pairing denim + black, which is super funny because I used to hate this combo! I think the contrast in tones is just super edgy and chic.

IMG_4342

I also have a thing with the tallest wedges ever lately, hence these that I am wearing from Saint Laurent. They are actually super comfy and easy to walk in! I love the contrast between the suede top and the woven neutral heel.

IMG_4345

Now onto my clutch. Well, let’s be honest, it’s my moms! But I had to borrow it for this outfit, I mean it was just too perfect. I am thoroughly in love love with Valentino’s entire Byzantine Empire inspired Spring ’16 line. The turquoise studs mixed with the rich black leather make this bag everything and more. Truly a piece that my mom will be able to use forever (and then hand down to me!)

IMG_4341

When I threw on this Natalie B turquoise cuff, I thought it might be too much with the clutch, but instead it was perfection. I am having SUCH a silver jewelry moment by the way. My sister is probably laughing reading this (I was stalking out some random rings at Miraval in Tuscon with her a couple of weeks ago), but really I want any + all things silver, oversized, navajo inspired.

IMG_4350

My go-to Karen Walkers finished off this look. I am so excited for all the fun ways denim is being created for Spring and Summer. From rompers like this one, to fun high waisted skirts to easy little dresses, it’s definitely one of my favorite trends.

HIS & HERS: THE DENIM EDIT

or loveI love styling my husband almost as much as I love dressing myself. In general I find dresses others easier, as visually it’s so much more clear. That is why with this blog and my newfound determination, I hope to style more in the future.

IMG_2909

Back to this denim edit. A typical date night at our house begins with me deciding what I am going to wear, followed quickly by my husband shouting down the hall (his closet is in the guest room, obviously I use the whole closet in the master!) asking what he is wearing. He doesn’t even kind of try, which I actually adore. The dork in me definitely tends to coordinate our ensembles, as you can see in this post.

IMG_4268

Let’s start with my look. I am soo loving the bodysuit trend! I know, it’s a tough one to go for, but if you are bold enough, I highly suggest taking the plunge. This one is only $50 from Tiger Mist. I am also 100% (as I previously mentioned in my jean short post) into the high waistedness that is everywhere. I know it can totally be a “mom jean” look, but I think it’s seriously so much more flattering than the super low waisted (aka let your gut and butt crack hang out) look. These, by Citizens of Humanity, caught my eye because they are skinny skinny and distressed to perfection.

I went with a Proenza Schouler white clutch to match my husbands super white Adidas shoes. And then with my black essential Manolo Blahnik pumps. Had these lovers for years and can honestly say they are comfy times ten.

IMG_4277

So this is my husband, Colby. We met on the first (literally!) day of college at University of San Diego (thanks to my adorable roommate who was his high school prom date! Hi, Gretchen!). We were friends for awhile, which I honestly think is the key to any good relationship as you get to know each other. By the end of our freshman year we gave in and were a thing and the rest is history. He is my everything. He mellows out my overthinking and keeps my sassiness in line!

For his look, I went with the open sweater look, which I adore. This one is by Rag & Bone and is fab because it’s pretty fitted (I can’t stand when open sweaters are oversized and baggy). Underneath I went with a simple white V neck (by RVCA). Right now I am loving the super skinny jeans that are so trend for guys. I know it can a tough look to pull off for some, but a more fitted jean in general is always more flattering (than baggy Dad jeans…no and no). These are by AG and I love that they are such a fab grey tone. For shoes, it’s all about these Adidas Superstars. The brightest white and just so crisp. Love love.

love love

So now you guys know my husband! (The picture above pretty much sums up my feelings) He is seriously the the nicest guy who always just wants to have fun. You will see more of him for sure!
