INTO THE TROPICS

Hi, Hi! It’s almost Friday (longest week ever, right?) and I am just over here dreaming about vacay. I mean, I do live in a pretty amazing spot (that some travel thousands of miles to vacation) but to me it’s home, so it’s always fun to venture off somewhere fabulous. The best tropical getaway (to me) is definitely Hawaii and I could 100% use some of it’s magicalness in my life right now!

When I take a vacation, I love to pick up a few new pieces just to make the getaway that much more special.  This romper, from Aqua, is not only super affordable ($88), but also the most easy, comfy piece. I adore the bright tropical pattern and the fact that it has pockets. It would be just as cute worn casually with simple flops or an easy little wedge.

IMG_5348

I paired it with my favorite Stuart Weitzman heels to make the white in the print pop. I can’t stop these shoes. I know they were all the rage last year, but honestly you cannot beat a simple, sleek stiletto heel like these. They are subtle and sexy at the same time!

IMG_5306

Since the romper is full of personality, I keep my bag choice pretty quiet with this light mauve Valentino crossbody.

And for sunnies, I was feeling kinda retro with the Hawaiian print, so I went with these super round ones from Wildfox. I love how a pair of sunglasses can literally change the vibe of your look, don’t you? I was discussing my sunnie addiction with some other bloggers and just think they are the best way to give your outfit some extra character!

Here are some more vacay ready rompers:

1.Trejoa 2. Parker 3. Mara Hoffman 4. Flynn Skye 5. Show Me Your Mumu 6. Lovers & Friends 7. Karina Grimaldi 8. Eight Sixty

I hope you all have the best weekend! Last weekend my hubby was traveling for work, so I fully looking forward to lots of date nighting and just hanging out. Cheers to you all and thanks for reading.

STRONG STRIPES

Hii, friends! Happy hump day! I hope you guys are having a good week so far. Mine has busy, but fun! Today I got to celebrate another blogger, @simplyxclassic, birthday at Sushi Roku and it was so delish! They spoiled us with a trillion courses of nonstop yumminess. There were a bunch of other OC bloggers there, it was so fun and cool to meet them in real life. They have all been blogging for awhile and have great followings, so it was super informative to chat with them. I adore that starting this blog has allowed me to meet other people who share my love of fashion! It really has been life changing for me to dedicate so much time to something I truly love.

IMG_5310

Anyways, back to today’s post. Stripes! They are such a trend for Spring and I love them. Totally classic and so easy to wear (especially when you choose vertical like the ones on these Rag and Bone shorts). I found these in LA at Intermix a couple of weeks ago when I was up visiting my sister. I love the navy/white/black mix. EVERYTHING, right? I paired them with this silk cropped tank from Kendall & Kylie (yes, you read that right..I am just as surprised as you that their line has some totally cute pieces).

IMG_5313

Since the neckline on the tank is so simple, I decided to layer on some necklaces. I have not been swayed much by the choker trend, that is until I saw this perfect one (the “millie collar”) on of my college friends a couple of weeks ago. She is a jewelry designer (brooklyngracejewelry.com) and made this totally fab dainty little thing! I adore the triangles and just that it’s so minimal and major at the same time. I layered it with my Gorjana lariat.

IMG_5314

For shoes, I was feeling casual, but wanted some height, so I went with these from Raye. How fun are the suede straps and espadrille bottom? They are beyond comfy too. To bring out the gold in the necklaces and the black in the shoes, I went with my all timer Chanel bag. I got this beauty for my 30th birthday and 5 years later (ugh, can you believe how old I am?!) it’s still one of my ultimate go-to’s. (And I know I will be rocking it when I am 75, living in Palm Desert, with like 5 dogs in tow!)

IMG_5312

To finish off this fun little look I went with these new, totally oversized Le Spec sunnies. I got these at my event at Bloomingdales and absolutely love that they are so huge and so well priced ($59!)! Kinda obsessed with their whole line!

Here are some more fun striped pieces for Spring:

  1. Sundry tank 2. Sam & Lavi skirt 3. Rails dress 4. Lovers and Friends jumpsuit

     5. 1.State dress 6. Sanctuary top 7. Red Valentino skirt 8. Auguste top

I hope you all have a fantastic day today! Thanks so much for reading!

PARTY TIME PINK

IMG_5275

Hi guys! Happy Friday! Just in time for weekend fun, I am talking all about one of my favorite colors for Spring and Summer dresses, vibrant pink. I know the pantone color of the year is quartz pink, but I personally prefer this happiest and most fun fuchsia. I adore that it is just so full of life! The perfect shade for all things party.

IMG_5274

I actually wore this look to my little event at Bloomingdales and loved it so much that I had to shoot it. If you haven’t picked up on it by now, I do love color. I know most people shy away from brights, but I honestly believe everyone looks good in them (not florescent 90’s colors, but nice rich colors). Whenever friends ask me what they should wear to parties/weddings/soirees, I always suggest a color. Life is just too short to always wear black or dark colors!

IMG_5281

Anyways, back to this outfit. The dress, by Rebecca Taylor, just screams party time which is why I had to have it. I adore the off the shoulder and the absolutely adorable ruffle detailing. Worn as is, it is great, but in true me form, I added this fun wrap belt from B-Low the Belt. Like I have mentioned before, I really think giving yourself a waist is so important. It always kicks up the femininity of a look. I adore the contrast of fuchsia and black. It’s such a classic, timeless combo. Just to kick it up a notch, I grabbed my green and black tribal-esque Proenza Schouler clutch. So fun, right?

IMG_5276

For shoes, I went with these so fab, so good lace up black heels from Barneys New York (their in house brand which I love because it’s pretty well priced and always on trend!) Since I got these lovers, I haven’t stopped wearing them! Comfy and they go with everything. I love that the stacked, lower heel is so on trend. For sunnies, I went super classic with my oversized Karen Walkers.

IMG_5265

Party season is upon us (yay, I love this time of year!) so I challenge you all to try a fun fuchsia dress. I can promise you will look fab and feel happy (which is what fashion is all about, right?) Here are some more fab pink options:

1.Trina Turk 2. NBD 3. Love Shack Fancy 4. Susana Monaco

5. Saylor 6. Leith 7. BB Dakota 8. Amanda Uprichard

Happiest Weekend, lovelies! I hope you all get to fully enjoy yours!

PERFECTLY PATTERNED SHORTS

IMG_5246

Hi guys! Happy Tuesday! Today I am talking about all the fun shorts that are everywhere right now for Spring + Summer. I love that there is such a great variety in the styles. From printed, to embroidered, to embellished to ones that are frayed, they are all fab and full of personality!

IMG_5248

I found these adorable navy, white and pink embroidered ones from Rory Beca on revolveclothing.com (I got them awhile ago, so sadly there are few size options left!) and fell in love with the fraying along the edges. It makes them so much more fun, right? I just love that you can dress up or dress down this trend in shorts. These would be so fun with a simple tank and flip flops too! In general, when you have one piece that is super printed or full of colors, its always best to pair it with something plain + simple (as I did with this cream blouse). That way you are letting the one loud part of your outfit have it’s moment. This Mink Pink top was the perfect plain, but still fun, option to pair with these shorts. I love the elastic detailing as it keeps it in place! This top is also so fun with high waisted skirts and denim.

IMG_5253

For accessories, I also went pretty simple, as again the shorts are the star of this show! I am loving layering necklaces lately (well always, but more so lately) and I adore that this lariat from Gorjana does the layering for you! It’s almost like two necklaces in one. I wanted to make the pink from the shorts pop, so I went with my fuchsia mini Valentino crossbody. This thing is so end all. Perfect size for just the necessities! Kept it super duper neutral with my tan, barely there Manolo Blahnik heels. These are the most comfy and most mellow sandals I own (a great option if you are in need of a super plain, but cute heel). For sunnies, I went with my silver mirrored Illestevas to match the silver strap on my bag (yes, I think about these things as I really think it’s important to bring together parts of your look!)

IMG_5247

The weather has been super warm and super dreamy here in SoCal this week! It definitely makes me excited for Summer and all these fun, colorful pieces that will be popping up more and more. I am usually a throw on any dress type of girl, but with this fun shorts trend, I am so excited to switch it up!

Here are some of the other shorts I have been eyeing lately:

1) Karina Grimaldi 2) Lovers & Friends 3) Three Dots 4) Show Me Your Mumu

5) Rebecca Minkoff 6) Parker 7) Beach Riot 8) Lovers & Friends 9) Alice & Olivia

Hope you all have a fab day today! Happy Shopping!

BACK TO BASICS

IMG_5050

Sometimes the most simple, easy pieces create the best fashion. Case and point, a white top and dark denim. Always chic. It’s the most timeless and mindless combination out there. This is how I style it.

IMG_5046

When I found this Saloni top at Intermix, I literally died. How fun is the tie detailing on the shoulders? Plus the super girly ruffle detailing? It’s just so good. A wee bit preppy, but when mixed with these super skinny Paige jeans it takes a more modern feel (which I prefer). The crisp, bright white on the beyond dark denim makes the best contrast. I love to give my skinniest denim a tiny roll when I am wearing shoes that have an ankle strap. That way you can show off your whole shoe! The key to this roll is keeping it really small and only rolling once or twice. That way you keep the length of your jeans (which elongates your legs). IMG_5053

IMG_5054

To keep the look super simple, but chic, I went with nude accessories. These platforms from Raye are my current everything. I adore the perfectly tan suede and the wooden heel. The are so comfy and just go with everything! To bring in the nude tone further, I went with my perfectly neutral Celine. I mean no explanation needed here…it’s just perfection! I did give the look two POC’s. First, this fab fab oversized turq cuff from Natalie B. Do you die or do you die? I am obsessed with this thing! Such a fun way to top off any outfit. Then to pull in that blue, I did my standard blue mirrored Illesteva’s.

IMG_5055

This look has me all ready for the weekend! SO happy tomorrow is Friday, aren’t you guys? We have a jammed pack weekend ahead and I can’t wait for all of it. Hope you all have the best day & weekend. Thanks so much for reading!

Here are some more of my favorite simple white tops and super dark skinnies:

1) Joie top 2) Rachel Zoe top 3) Paige tank 4) Nicholas top 5) Lucy top

6) Joe’s skinnies 7) Paige skinnies 8) Citizens of Humanity skinnies 9) 7 for All Mankind
