LUXE LEOPARD & THE SIMPLE SHIRT DRESS

IMG_4886

Hi guys! I hope you all had a fab weekend! Today I am talking leopard, the always and forever trend. Even when it goes out of style, it’s always somewhat still in style and always comes back in with a vengeance. One of my all time favorite pairs of shoes is a leopard pump from Loeffler Randall, that I got years ago, but I still wear all the time and they keep recreating every season. Leopard print details like a clutch or belt are always a chic way to accessorize and give personality to your outfit.

This little Equipment number (I shorten it…as I do with everything!) is one of my current faves as I am all about the easy shirtdress for daytime. I adore the mix of nontraditional colors that make up this fun take on leopard. The dress came with a belt, but I switched it out to this belt from B-low the belt (I know, again?!! I just love their creations!) because I wanted to funk it up and make the black pop. My new Prada black sunnies were perfect with this look as they are a bit retro and perfectly oversized.

Since this is a daytime look, I went with my oversized carryall from Celine. This is actually basically a vintage piece as my mom handed it down to me a couple of years ago (I know, I am so lucky to have a mom who has incredible taste!) You can tell this bag has been around the block and back, but I think that is why I love it so much. It’s fully broken in and that gives it personality!

Let’s discuss these fun shoes! Super comfy and so on trend with the lace up detailing, these Dolce Vita loves are perfection for day to night. A good price point ($150) and just so fun with the wooden heel. They come in fab cognac brown too, which I also love. I thought they were so fun with this look as they are bit edgy. I feel like this look is such an easy option to throw on daytime for work meetings and running around. It could easily take you into a night out with a quick change of the bag to a clutch. The shirtdress fad in general is definitely one of the most wearable trends that anyone can and should try. It’s simple, but looks finished and chic. Most come with a belt, which is totally fine to use, but I love switching out to one that is little more fun to give your look personality.

COLD SHOULDERS & PRINTED PALMS

Hi guys! This week is flying by, right? I don’t know about you all, but I feel like the older I get the more fast everything seems to go. The fact that it’s April is just crazy as I feel like we just welcomed in the new year!

IMG_4793

Anyways, back to fashion! Today’s post is all about the cold shoulder and fun palm leaf printed trends. I love both of these individually and loved pairing them as well. This Joie top comes in a few colors (here in white) and prints and I just love it! The straps are adjustable, which is always a major plus in my book. I also love the pleating detailing along the bustline, it just makes it more feminine.

Now onto the shorts. First, I love this brand Show Me Your Mumu, so much. I know I have previously posted about them, but seriously soo much goodness at such a great price! Second, I am straight palm leaf obsessed! I made stationary for myself, my mom and my sis for Christmas in the print and just made my new business cards with them. SO much fun, right? I love love all the fun versions of the classic print that are out there in fashion right now. It’s the epitome of Cali cool to me (sorry Katie B if you are reading this, I know you hate the term “Cali”, but it just describes this look too perfectly!) I am definitely palm leaf loving right now.

I love a hot pink and green color combo. NOT light pink and neon green like Lily Pulitzer, but instead a fab rich fuchsia and also rich kelly green. That’s why I had to go with my foldover Balenciaga with this look.

I got a little wild with my sunnies and went with more green! I know, it’s kind of alot, but I just loved it all together. These mirrored loves are just like all my others from Illesteva. I added on this simple black and silver cuff from Natalie B, just to accessorize a bit. Since the rest of my look was so incredibly loud, I went with my most simple black Maje shoes (on sale!)  Sometimes you can’t beat a super plain heel, right?

How fun will this look be for a night out? Or these shorts paired with a simple tank and flops on fun vacay trip? I know I will be throwing these on nonstop this Summer!

Hope you are all having a great week and cheers to a fun weekend ahead! If  you are in the Orange County area, please come see me at Bloomingdales Fashion Island on Saturday morning! I am hosting a fun, casual shopping event. There will be mimosas, fun mini desserts and lots of fab fashion! xo, Caro

THE QUINTESSENTIAL SPRING DRESS

IMG_4723

Happy April, Friends! I just love this time of year as everything is in bloom and fashion starts to get so fun. I am all about a cute dress, especially ones that are feminine and flirty. This Parker dress is exactly that and most definitely the quintessential Spring dress.

IMG_4717

I adore the high neck and fun, colorful embroidery. I also adore the cinched waist! If you know me, you know I LOVE to belt my outfits. I just think any time you have the opportunity to define your waist, you should! It’s an instant body flattering move. I paired this dress with this super fun tie belt from B-Low the Belt (they are killing it lately!) I love love the tassle adorned ends.

For shoes, it was obvious I had to go with my favorite lace up Aquazzara heels as they match the belt perfectly and also add a bit of spunk to an otherwise super girly look. Keeping with the cognac brown trend, I went with my super simple Celine crossbody. I went with my House of Harlow cuff to bring in the gold of the bag. I know I wear this thing all the time, but it really is the perfect piece with so many looks. My Chloe oversized round sunnies were the perfect way to top off this look as they are all things girlish.

Like I mentioned earlier, I love all the fun fashion that emerges this time of the year. Colors, bright whites, airy materials…I love it all and I think we should all wear as many fun dresses as we can while the temps let us! There are so many days even I think to just throw on shorts and tee, but the days when I instead chose to put a dress, I always feel cuter (right?!)  Sometimes taking that extra 10 minutes to pick something out goes so much further than you think. I am a strong believer that what you wear dictates your mood. SO my point with this rant is (and I am talking to myself here too!), life is too short to wear the same thing all the time and to not make the best of yourself by wearing something fun and cute!
