SUMMER’S SWINGY SHORTS

IMG_5957

Hi guys! I hope you all had a fab long weekend! Mine was spent in between LA and OC with my mom and sister. Our agenda included lots of yummy food, good convo and fab shopping. I am so grateful to have them both in my life and to get to spend quality time with them!

IMG_5960

Today I am talking all things shorts. In the warmer temps, there is nothing better than keeping cool in a fab pair of shorts. I love that this season there are so many varieties of prints and styles. I personally love all the swingy ones, like I am wearing in these pictures, as they are so feminine + flirty.  I just couldn’t resist the fab print and comfy fit of these  by Lovers & Friends.. I paired them with this fun (and affordable) crop top (sadly only available in black now) from Topshop to give the look a super flirty feel.

For accessories, I wanted to make the blue of the shorts pop and to bring some more color to the look, so I went with my essential marine blue Celine crossbody. This thing is beyond fab as the three pouches come apart and can be used separately! And since they are separate, its a fab way to keep your stuff organized. Keeping with the emphasis on blue, I threw on my Schutz heels because are literally the same shade of marine (I love a matchy matchy situation).

Since the neckline of this crop is a deep v, I needed some necklaces to add some personality. I went with my current obsession, this star choker from Brooklyn Grace Jewelry (I bought two for layering purposes). How fun? I also threw on this fun longer spiked gold necklace from Gorjana (who I also adore!) For sunnies, I had to stick with all things blue, so I chose my mirrored Le Specs (well priced at $59).

I am super excited that Summer is upon us! I just hope that our weather here in SoCal starts to shape up (we have had the worst “May gray” that I fear is quickly going to change into “June gloom”) so I can wear shorts like these nonstop. Swingy and printed shorts are such a fab switch up from the ol’ jean shorts (which I love love too but changing it up is always good). Here are some other options that are currently on my wish list:

1. Lovers & Friends 2. Lovers & Friends 3.Splendid 4. Piper 5. Joie

6.Lucca Couture 7. Lush ($44!) 8. WAYF 9. ASTR 10. Band of Gyspies ($48!)

I hope you all have a fab Tuesday and start to this short week! Thanks for reading & happy shopping!

FIERY FIESTA RED

IMG_5915

Happy long weekend fashion friends! My mom is in town from North Carolina and we have some fun-filled days ahead! I am looking forward to lots of catching up, some shopping, relaxing and of course a ton of good meals.

IMG_5911

Just in time for weekend wildness, I am all about the fiesta red trend today. I used to never wear red as I thought it totally clashed with my hair. But in my older age, I have started to love it and find myself buying more pieces that have reds in them or are totally red like this fun off the shoulder number from Tessora. Since fiery fiesta red is so on trend, I couldn’t pass up this flirty dress. I love the Spanish feel of the details! I belted it (belt is super old J.Crew, but similar here or here) to give it more shape.

IMG_5923

To let the dress have it’s moment, I went with neutral accessories (neutral but full of personality!) This clutch is a super old Givenchy hand me down from my mom, which makes me adore it even more. It’s such a rad piece because of the gold hardware that you essentially can wear as a bracelet. For shoes, I continued the cream color with these insane Alexandre Birman heels. How fab?!

IMG_5920

I love wearing necklaces, especially chokers, with off the shoulder looks. It just gives an otherwise barren space life! My “millie” choker from Brooklyn Grace Jewelry was the obvious perfect choice for this spicy look. I layered it with this simple necklace from Shashi (on sale!) I also threw on my essential House of Harlow gold cuff and other bracelets for fun. My Le Spec mirrored gold sunnies were the perfect way to finish off this party ready look!

IMG_5917 3

There are so many fun fiesta red pieces out right now, so it’s a super easy color trend to try. If you don’t want to go full force with a dress, you can easily grab some fab heels or a fun clutch. To me, it screams vibrancy and life, which is so uplifting! From these pictures, you can tell the minute I got this dress on I felt like dancing (let’s not discuss how I basically almost sprained my ankle doing this spin!) Which to me is exactly why I am so fashion obsessed. What you wear totally dictates your mood! That’s why I get so excited to help others find pieces that awaken them, like this silly red dress did for me!

Here are some more fun fiesty, fiery, full of life red pieces:

1. Tularosa 2. StyleStalker 3. Saylor 4. BCBG

5. Bobi 6. Haute Hippie 7. Rebecca Minkoff  8. Rebecca Minkoff

I hope you all have such a fab holiday weekend! I can’t wait to just hang with my mom and sister (the hubs is off on a boys golf trip). Thanks for reading and happy shopping!

RED, WHITE DENIM & BLUE (FOR THAT BBQ)

IMG_5899

Hi Friends! Even though I can’t believe it, Memorial Day weekend is here and that means all things red, white and blue. I definitely do not follow the white rules (only wear white after Memorial Day – Labor Day), but as Summer approaches I am always more in the mood for a fab pair of white denim. Let’s be real though, white denim is terribly hard. I rarely put on a pair (like I did with these from AG) and think oooh I love these! Usually you can see to much or the material isn’t right, but these are all around fab!

IMG_5893

I put this look together thinking of the essential daytime BBQ and thought a fresh white on white look would be so fun. I found this cute little red & blue adorned top from Piper and felt like it just screamed Memorial Day. This brand is super cute by the way! They sell it on revolve.com, but I have also seen the full line being sold at Bloomingdales. Really fun, Summery pieces.

IMG_5896

To keep the look super minimal and daytime chic, I went with a neutral heel. These from Steve Madden are not only affordable, but also so comfy. I know I will be throwing them on with loud dresses and all my denim looks this Summer. For my bag, I needed something big enough for all my daytime essentials, so I went with my (super old) Chloe crossbody. This bag doesn’t age! I got it probably over 6 years ago and it still looks so fresh (and I love that they still sell this style so no one even knows mine is old news!)

IMG_5889

For sunnies, I grabbed my trusty silver mirrored Illesteva’s. I threw on some neutral bracelets and my Michele watch and was good to go!

IMG_5900

A simple top and white denim isn’t rocket science, but it is forever chic and fun. I think the key to finding the best white denim is finding a pair that has stretch and is done in a thick, opaque material. I have linked some of my other faves below, but I do think everyone is different, so just have to go on to figure out which fits you best. I have the Mother version below as well and they are definitely my second favorite.

Here are some other white tops/white denim for your Memorial Day fun:

1. Topshop 2. Rag & Bone 3. Paige 4. Mother

5. James 6. Ella Moss 7. Lovers & Friends 8. Oh My Love 9. Backstage

I hope you guys have a fab day today! xo, Caro

YELLOW & LEOPARD PRINT

IMG_5869

FRIDAY!! This week was decades long, right? I think the 2 day hangover from Vegas may have been the culprit, but still the days seemed to drag! The weekend is here and I couldn’t be more excited for a fun date night tonight with my hubs at our fave Mexican place, a girls day tomorrow with some of my college besties and a double date night with one of our fave couples at new spot.

IMG_5870

Today I am talking yellow and leopard, one of my fave combos. There is something about the tone of yellow with the tan + black mix in leopard print that just goes so well together. Simple, yet totally fun and chic. I am lover of an easy button down  and this one from Knot Sisters (pretty well priced at $92) is one of my faves. It’s super soft and totally oversized, which I love. The rich mustard tone is everything! I felt like it went perfectly with these cream cutoffs from Levi’s (I know, Levi’s? I couldnt believe it either when I saw them on revolve, but they fit like a glove so I am all for them making a comeback). The best part is that they are only $50!

IMG_5873

These ankle wrap sandals from Raye are beyond. The mini wooden heel makes them super comfy and wearable. I love that thick straps give them even more personality. These will 100% be in heavy rotation this Summer!

IMG_5866

To play off the cream of my shorts, I went with my very first Celine luggage bag. I adore the two tone of this fab bag and the fact that the cream part is made of jute. It’s like a fancy beach tote! For sunnies, I needed some more yellow, so I went with these gold lensed ones from Le Spec. I also threw on my studded wrap bracelet from Alexander McQueen to pull in the black.

IMG_5868

I honestly view leopard print as a neutral. I think it goes fabulously with stripes and other prints! I think yellow is the best color to pair it with, but it’s also super fun with reds and pinks. It’s a forever trend that I think is so fun to incorporate into your look.

Here are some more of my favorite yellow and leopard print pieces:

                          1. Frame top  2. Privacy Please dress 3. C/meo top 4. Alice & Olivia top
         5. Alexander Wang heels 6. Soludos espadrille 7. Jimmy Choo heels 8. Givenchy sneakers

Here’s to a fab weekend friends! May yours be filled with lots of laugh & fun.

SPRING EMBROIDERY

IMG_5843 2

Hi Friends! It’s already the middle of the week, just like that. We had the best (ever!!) time in Vegas, but not going to lie, I was seriously hung over for 2 days! What is it with getting older and just taking forever to bounce back? It was well worth it, but definitely made for a rough start to this week.

IMG_5855 2

Today is all about one of the biggest trends for Spring, embroidery. From fun tops, to detailed shoes, to done up clutches, it’s everywhere. I really love this trend because I am all about buying pieces that are special and have personality. When I found this Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent skirt at Intermix in South Coast, I was in love love. The detailing is insane, the shape is super feminine and the mix of colors is so fun. I paired it with this one shouldered crop (on sale!) from ALC, as I felt like the top needed to be super simple.

IMG_5844 2

For my bag, I felt like this look needed something more fancy but edgy, so I went with this studded clutch (mine is old, but here is similar) from Alexander McQueen. This mini stunner is such a special piece that is so timeless & will forever be cool.

IMG_5845 2

For shoes, I kept with the edgy feel with my lace up heels from Barneys. I have worn these nonstop lately!! I actually wore them in Vegas last weekend for about 7 hours straight and my dogs weren’t barking! That’s the sign of a beyond fab shoe, right? Love them.

IMG_5851 2

For sunnies, I went with my current faves from Illesteva. I am SO obsessed with these. Huge + mirrored = basically my dream! I added a pop of color with my Natalie B cuff and this super fun ring from Angelique de Paris.

This trend is one that everyone can and should try. If you are too hesitant to go for a fully embroidered skirt like this one, try a top with a tiny bit of embellishment or go with a clutch to spice up your look. Here are some more super fun embroidered pieces that I have been eyeing:

1. Tularosa top 2. Joie top 3. Piper top

4. Tt skirt 5. Star Mela skirt 6. Rococo Sand shorts

7. Soludos espadrilles 8. Guanabana clutch 9. Gianvito Rossi heels (so dreamy!)

I hope you all have a great hump day! Our May-Gray situation over here is getting realllllly old and depressing! It’s beyond time for CA to clean it up. Anyways, here’s to a productive and fun day!  xo, Caro
