BOHEMIAN BLUES

Hi guys, happy Saturday! Like I mentioned in my post on Tuesday, this week was crazy for me, so I am just getting to this post!

It’s all about my current love for bohemian blues today. I feel like light blue (in this case chambray) is such a Summer essential. It goes with so much and exudes that dreamy Grecian vacay feel. I am not over the off the shoulder trend (yet), so when I found this ruffle adorned chambray top from McGuire denim, I knew it would be such an essential piece for my Summer wardrobe. Today I paired it with these fun shorts from Aqua (only $46!), but I totally plan on wearing it with white jeans, dark denim cutoffs or black shorts. So, I am always about a print, especially one that give off a boho vibe, which is the exact feel of these smocked shorts. Talk about comfy and easy, I adore them!

Since the shorts have so much color, I went with neutral accessories. I can’t even explain my love for these platform, tie up Jimmy Choos. They are everything! So comfy too. My Valentino rockstud clutch matched them perfectly and helped give the look a bit more edge.

I added some girly details with this crescent choker from Brooklyn Grace Jewelry and this longer crescent necklace from Gorjana. I am so into layering necklaces lately if you haven’t noticed! It’s just such a fun way to dress up your neckline and give your look personality. My valentino rockstud bracelet and Michele watch (with this tan strap) were the perfect way to finish off this look.

THE RETURN OF THE ONE SHOULDER

IMG_6197

Hi guys! I hope you all had a great weekend and survived Monday! I have a super busy week, but am enjoying our warmer weather and that we are approaching my most favorite months of the year here (July-October are our warmest, best months!)

IMG_6194

Today it’s all about my excitement around the return of the one shouldered trend. I think this look is always super feminine and just fun. It’s definitely a trend that comes and goes, but I am so happy to see that it’s back right now. As we are upon wedding season, I scooped up this fab Rebecca Taylor dress because it’s the perfect option. How fun is the ruffle detailing? I adore this peachy pink color as it’s so soft and girly! And it can be paired with so many other complimentary colors. I paired it with these bright turquoise Stuart Weitzman heels. I know, I have this style (the “nudist”) in so many colors, but you just can go wrong with the simple stiletto heel. Especially when dressing up!

IMG_6191I went with my darker pink Balenciaga clutch (really old, circa 1999, but here is a fab similar one) , just to keep it more simple since my shoe choice was pretty bold. If I chose one bright accessory, I always like to keep my other ones a bit more toned down. I threw on this fab & essential cuff from Kenneth Jay Lane (on sale for $72!) SO simple, but always one I find myself going for since makes a great statement. My Le Spec gold lens sunnies were the perf option to finish off this ready for any party look!

I just love the personality of the one shoulder! It automatically gives off a sassy, but chic feel, which I adore. I think it’s a great style for any Summer wedding or soiree. Here are some more super cute options:

1. Cooper & Ella 2.BCBG 3. Alice & Olivia

4. Oh My Love 5. Amanda Uprichard 6.Rachel Zoe

I am trying not to be that typical person by saying I can’t wait till Friday, but really with all that we have going on this week, I cant wait till Friday! I hope you all enjoy your Tuesday and have a fab week. And happy one shouldered shopping!

THOSE SUMMER (DATE) NIGHTS

IMG_5935

Happy Friday, fashion friends! This short week flew by and now it’s time for all things date night & fun in this amazing heat wave we are having (finally!) I am all about any excuse to wear jean shorts and that’s what I am discussing today. How to dress up your Summer denim and make it date night appropriate.

The boyfriend short, which essentially is just a slouchy version of the normal jean short, is a trend I am loving right now. We all know I love love the high waisted trend, but I also love anything comfy too. These Rag & Bone are exactly that. I love the front button detailing and mini rolled hemline. I paired them with a simple white tank from Topshop (this tank is amazing, I have it in 3 colors!) For daytime, I would so rock just this tank + short combo, but since we are talking date night, I dressed it up by adding on this end-all-be-all jacket from Rebecca Taylor. I got this fabulousness right before Christmas as we were headed to Portland and I needed a cute option for layering. Lucky for you all, it’s on super sale! The embroidery and fringe detailing is so so fun! I just got it in black too because it fits to perfection and is just a fab piece. By simply adding on the jacket, my look instantly becomes finished enough to wear out at night.

You can also dress up your jean shorts by kicking up your accessories. Instead of going with a big carryall, choose something small and feminine. I went with my mini Marcie Chloe in grey (I can’t stop this color!) It’s such a great neutral that goes with so much. For shoes, make sure you go with heels, otherwise you just look too casual and daytime. To make the white of my tank pop, I went with my Christian Louboutin simple pumps. These are a Summer fave for sure! To finalize my look, I threw on this super fab statement necklace from Natalie B. I mean, how fun? For sunnies I wanted to keep with the grey tones, I went with my silver mirrored lens Illesteva’s.

Now on to my cute husbands look. I adore that super skinny, beat up denim is all the rage for guys right now! I found these by Topman at Nordstrom. I already am obsessed with Topshop for myself, so I am loving that the men’s choices are just as on point and fab. I grabbed this shirt from them too. Simple and super lightweight, I just like that it’s almost chambray but not. For shoes, I wanted him to match me (obviously), so I went with these Prada grey loafers. You cannot beat the luxeness (not a real word, but if you haven’t caught on, I like to make up my own often) of Prada leather!

Boyfriend shorts are so fun to throw on when you just feel like being more relaxed, but also want to look cute. For daytime, grab a tee or fun button down knotted in the front and you are good to go. Have fun playing with washes. The lighter the better when it comes to Summer denim! There is nothing more luxe than dark denim, but in the hotter temps, it’s always fun to switch it up and go lighter.

Here are some more boyfriend shorts and a couple pairs of men’s denim that I have my eye on:

1.Current/Elliott 2. AMO 3. RES 4. Rag & Bone 5. Levi’s 6. James Jeans

7. Jean Shop   8. AGOLDE   9. Topman

I hope you all enjoy your first June weekend! After being apart last weekend, my husband and I have a jammed pack weekend of “us” activities! Cheesy, but true! Happy shopping!
