FEMININE BUT EDGY

Hi guys! Happy Thursday! So happy we are just a day away from the weekend! I hope you have all had a good week so far. Mine has been great (minus the super duper crazy hot temps!)

Today I am discussing one of my most favorite combos: girly dresses and edgy moto jackets. It’s definitely on trend right now and I just love how fun and wearable it is! I found this super fabulous dress at Anthropologie. I actually rarely try on clothes there, I usually just pop in for all their fun accessories. This fabulous blue color so caught my eye, so I had to slip it on! I love the nude underlay and the simple fit. I also love the length as it totally let’s you show a little ankle, which I love!

img_8837

I added on this super fab Gucci belt (get ready for much more of this and other variations because I am sooo obsessed with all things Gucci this season) to spice it up and also make the fit more finished.

img_8836

Now on to this moto from Astr.  I couldn’t believe the price ($148) as most suede jackets are $500+! It’s so super soft and is a tad oversized, which is so fun. Definitely a great piece to have for the colder months as you could wear it nonstop over a tee with jeans. The minute I added it to this look, I had a yes! moment. I just love the feel of a hardcore piece with something so feminine!

img_8830

I went with this navy Rebecca Minkoff clutch to pull in the blue tones of the dress (and I adore how the gold detailing matches the gold detailing on the belt). Real quick, I am so obsessed with this clutch (I actually have it 2 other colors) because it’s super durable and really the best size for all your things! Plus, it’s under $100!

img_8834

I went standard with my nude Steve Madden heels and gold mirror Le Specs sunglasses. I added on two gold chokers (here and here) from Vanessa Mooney to dress it up a bit. I love layering chokers lately and these are both so dainty and pretty! Also, my mani color is “Maki Me Happy” from Essie and I am totally obsessed! It’s a dark wine red which to me screams Fall.

Here are some more fun girly dresses that would be fab paired with an edgy moto as well as a couple more jacket options:

I hope you all have a great weekend! The last weekend in September, which is just crazy!

xoxo and happy shopping,

Caro

TIED UP IN PINK & BLACK

img_8731

Happy Tuesday, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I attended my first Reward Style event last night in San Diego and it was so fun! It was so refreshing to meet so many bloggers I follow on instagram as well as learn some tips and tools for making the most out of my blog. Definitely an inspiring way to start my week!

img_8725

Today I am talking all things pink and black, one of my favorite combos for Fall. I love this mix because the mega contrast. The girly pink against the edgy black is so fun and full of life! With all that, of course I had to have this so fun For Love and Lemons mini. From the fab deep plunge, to the dramatic long sleeves, it’s seriously one of my all time favorite dresses. You know when you put on a piece and instantly feel so happy? That was me with this dress! Love love love!

img_8722

Since we are officially in Fall (even though Southern California reallllly missed the memo as it’s been in the 90’s), I paired this look with the most fab over the knee boots from Stuart Weitzman. Yes, these are a bit spendy, but I got them last year and will be wearing them again nonstop this year. I think if you are going to buy a pair of boots it’s really important to pick out ones that are of high quality. Otherwise you will just be replacing them quickly and therefore spending just as much money. I highly recommend these because they are very durable, comfortable and do not slouch off your leg since they have the tie back at the thigh. Here is a less expensive option from Kendall & Kylie that I have seen in real life and they are also super cute and look luxe.

img_8733-2

This over the knee boot/long sleeve mini dress combo is definitely one of my go-to’s for nights out. It’s just so flirty and fun!

img_8734

For sunnies, I grabbed these Le Specs because the mirrored pink lens was just too fun with this look. For bag, I kept it minimal and simple with this nude Saint Laurent bag. The dress is so the star of this show, so I felt like keeping it super neutral otherwise!

Here are some more pink and black dresses that I have been eyeing:

I hope you all have the most fab day today! I am praying it cools off over here so I can wear some of my fun new Fall finds! Happy Shopping!

LONG SLEEVE MINI LOVE

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday! I hope you all have had a good week so far. Mine has been busy busy, which I love! I don’t know about you guys, but I kinda thrive on having so much to do and being nonstop. I guess it’s because I have major ADD and cannot stand to sit around!img_8534 Anyways, back to fashion! Today I am discussing my obsession with long sleeve mini dresses. I love them for a couple of reasons, but mainly because you can show a little skin (legs), but still be classy since you are covered up otherwise! I also love them because they are fab option for this time of year with slightly cooler, but still warm temps.

img_8529This minty green one (few sizes left, here is the Fall version) I am wearing is a straight dream boat. The sleeves are belled and the fit is super girly and easy. I of course belted it to give myself a waist, but this dress is actually one I would wear sans belt sometimes too (my belt is old J.Crew, but here is a super similar). It’s flirty and just so fun!

img_8458

I paired it with these oh-so-fab turquoise earrings from Lizzie Fortunato (if you haven’t ever checked out their line, do it! They have the cutest jewelry). Since the dress has so much personality, I kept it super neutral with my accessories with my cream Chanel and neutral stiletto Steve Madden heels. For sunnies, I wanted to pull in the gold detailing of my Chanel, so I went with these gold mirror lens ones from Le Specs. I have been wearing these so much lately! I love love this brand because it’s always on point and SO well priced (these I am wearing are only $59).

By the way, I had so much fun shooting this look (if you can’t tell!) I was literally sticking in the grass trying to twirl and it was pure comedy for my poor photographer! He is rockstar (as always) for capturing these!!

I hope you all have a great day today! It’s my husbands birthday so I am looking forward to a yummy night out to celebrate!

OFF DUTY BASICS

Hi guys! Happy Friday!! Woohoo for the weekend! My post is right on time as I am discussing all things off duty. We all know I am huge girly girl, but I also love a fab pair of jeans every now and then.  img_8523-2

One of my favorite things to wear with jeans right now is a bodysuit. I know they aren’t for everyone and it’s definitely a trend that will pass, but right now I am all about them. This one is a huge steal from Topshop ($35). I love the lace up and the stripes! So easy and fun. I paired it with these high waisted and beyond comfy jeans from AG. Now these are not a steal, but honestly they are worth every penny. I find that cheaper jeans tend get baggy really fast and that after a few washes they get worn out and/or lose their color. That’s why I think it’s important to invest in a couple of pairs of jeans each season. They will last and you can wear them nonstop. I love the rips on these and the fact that they are jet black! They will be so fun all season with ankle boots and fun flats.

img_8525-2

Because it’s been cooling off a bit a night now, I tied this super fun anorak from BP (only $69!) around my waist. I am all about anything olive green these days! This jacket fits super cute- you can cinch in the waist which I love! It’s such a fun option to wear with a simple tee and jean shorts or over an easy daytime dress.

img_8483-2

For shoes I kept it simple with these stilettos from Steve Madden. Literally the best $79 I have spent in awhile since I wear them with everything!! My gold mirror lens Karen Walkers were the only option with this look as they just hit the vibe perfectly! For bag, I wanted a pop of color and I love love pairing olive green with tomato red, so I went with my Celine nano (here is a used option since you can’t buy Celine online)

Sidenote: let’s just discuss my hair in these pics for a minute. So I shoot like 4-8 looks at a time, this was look 8 and haha you can SO tell, right?!! We were shooting in Newport near the water and my hair is just a hot mess near salty ocean air. There are no words for how annoyed I get when I see this disheveled-ness on my head, but what can you do?!

img_8527-2

Here are some more off duty essentials I am loving:

I hope you all have the most wonderful weekends! We are off to dinner with some friends tonight and then we have a fun date night planned for tomorrow at one of our go-to’s Gulfstream (the yummiest shrimp cocktail ever!) On Sunday we are going to shop around for Colby (my husband, I feel like it’s weird to not call him by his name on here) because his birthday is next Wednesday! One thing you need to know about me, I LOVE birthdays. Not just because it’s a fab excuse to eat cake, but because I adore having a full day to celebrate the ones you love. It’s always fun to remind those around you how much you appreciate them and I always find birthdays are a great time to share that gratefulness!

Cheers to a fab weekend loves! xo, Caro

A LITTLE TAN LEATHER MINI MANIA

Hi guys! I know, I have been so MIA on the blogging front! That wedding last weekend was really important and definitely took a great deal of my attention. All went fabulously and now I can spend so much more time on all things fashion, so wooohoo!

img_8221-2

Today I am discussing my massive obsession with leather mini’s for Fall. Specifically this stud adorned one from the Line & Dot. When I shot these pics a month ago, this skirt was fully stocked, but sadly it is now almost sold out. I will link some similar options at the bottom of this post because there are SO many other cute ones out right now. I couldn’t handle that this beauty is only $103! In real life it’s honestly a high quality leather, so that price is so surprising and makes it so much more fun!

During these transitional temps, I am loving a long sleeve off the shoulder top, like this one from Lost in Lunar (few sizes left, so similar option here). The off the shoulder trend is definitely carrying over into Fall and Winter, just in warmer materials. I have seen tons of fun sweaters and sweatshirts that I can’t wait to style! It’s such a fab trend as you can off a little shoulder, but still be comfy.

img_8212-2

I paired this look with these go-to lace ups from Dolce Vita because they matched the tan of the skirt perfectly! Plus they are just so easy and comfy. As we enter cooler months, I would totally rock this look with a fun ankle boot. I added on this choker from Sterling Frasier because it’s super dainty and kinda goes with the boho feel of the top. Also tying in the boho feel are these sunnies from Miu Miu. I am definitely having a moment with round lens glasses and just love these!

For my bag, I went with this Tory Burch crossbody (I took the strap off to make it more of a clutch). The leather of this bag is just so plush! I have to be honest, I am not normally a fan of her stuff since it’s usually soo overdone with her logo. This piece caught my eye since it’s just super plain and the most perfect shade of brown.

Here are some more super fun leather minis that I have been eyeing:

I hope you all have a fab Friday tomorrow and weekend! I am going to do another post tonight since I am playing catch up!
