AMPED UP ARMY (JACKET)

Hiiii, guys! Happy Friday!! Woo woo! So happy it’s the weekend and so grateful for the amazing weather we have been having here in SoCal. Spring has officially sprung and I could not be more happy! I have been transitioning my closet (moving all my sweaters and winter pieces to storage) and it’s just always so refreshing to see all the color and prints that come with this time of year!

Today is all about one of my favorite Spring trends, the amped up army jacket. Just with done-up denim, this season all of the designers are embellishing and adorning army/military jackets and it’s seriously so fun! I found this one, from Sundry, and fell in love with the super (like super duper) soft material and fun patches. I have worn this jacket so much more than I really thought I would! I have had it for just over a month and have in that time I wore it on the plane to and from Phoenix, with a black jumpsuit to dinner with friends and over a simple tee and distressed denim last Sunday. It really is a versatile and wearable piece that can be styled many ways.

For this look, I paired it with an uber girly (and super wallet friendly) lace top from Hinge and my favorite dark denim skirt from Grlfrnd (have I convinced you yet that you need a denim skirt this season? I promise you won’t be mad if you get one!) I always love mixing feminine and masculine and this pairing is just that. The edginess of the jacket totally gives some life to otherwise plain and simple lace top!

For shoes, I went with these lace up heels from Raye. I LOVE these (so much that I got them in tan too!!) They are way comfy and just a great size heel for day or night. I kept my other accessories minimalistic with this Gucci crossbody, these Ray-bans and these Gorjana hoops.

There are SO many fun versions of this trend out right now. Like I mentioned earlier, it really is a wearable piece that anyone can pull off. Since Spring weather can be all over the place, it’s a fun way to stay warm when needed! Here are the others I think are fab:

I hope you all have really great weekend! We are just dinnering tonight, watching the basketball games tomorrow with friends (go GONZAGA!! I bet on them to win all in Vegas and need them to pull through so I can get this dreamy Chanel bag I am obsessing over!!) and on Sunday we are going to bbq at one of our friends (the first one of the warm season, so excited!) Hope you guys enjoy yours!

FEMININE FUN IN CREAM EYELET & A RED EMBROIDERED SKIRT

Hi guys! Happy Tuesday! Did you all have a good weekend? Ours was pretty quiet (much needed after our wild Vegas getaway) and all around fab. Our weather has been so fabulous lately, which I am so thankful for! I love this time of year and feel like this look today is the epitome of Springy fun!

I have to start by declaring my love for eyelet. It’s a forever trend that encompasses warm weather and femininity (two of my favorite things!) I found this uber girly and kinda romantic Sea top on Shopbop and fell in love with the high neck and detailing. I have found myself throwing this on nonstop with simple jean shorts or jeans for daytime as it’s really easy, but still so finished looking.

For this look, I wanted to do a really season-ready outfit, so I went with this bright red (and embroidered) skirt from For Love & Lemons (love this brand! Also who made my red mini I wore in Vegas (if you missed it, it’s under my “shop my looks” tab)). I adore adore this skirt! It will so be on heavy rotation all Spring and Summer long. It would look so cute with a simple white tee or fun silk tank too. I am loving this shade of red this season- it’s a bit tomato-y and just so happy!

Keeping with the girliness, I added on this skinny Gucci belt for some personality and then went with these essential Chloe wedges. I know I have mentioned here before, but these really are so comfy and perfect for daytime fun (this Marc Fischer version is so cute and easier on the wallet or these too). Since the top + skirt have so much going on, I kept my accessories to minimum with my tan Gucci bag and simple tortoise Ray-ban sunnies.

You really can’t beat a simple eyelet top during Spring and Summer. Like I mentioned earlier, it just exudes warm temperatures and always looks chic! Here are some more fun tops I have been eyeing.

I hope you all have a good day today! I am working on some looks this week, so I will be out style hunting today (my fave!)

FOR THE LOVE OF RUFFLES

Hi guys! Happy Thursday! I can’t believe how fast this week has gone by! Our trip to Vegas was a pure dream and I have spent this entire week trying to get back into gear. Do you guys do that? I always take a few days post vacay to get motivated and back up and running!

Today is all about the biggest trend of the season, the ruffled top. I feel like I have been posting nonstop about this trend, but I guess it’s because I love it and it’s so fun. Especially at this time of year when the weather is kinda warm but kinda cold, it’s so fab to have so many fun options to wear with denim. This top, from Petersyn, caught my eye with the majorly dramatic ruffles and asymmetric cut (another fun trend I am all about). There are so many tops similar to this one out right now, so I will share some other faves below, but I have to tell you that this particular one is a dream! It has a slight gingham print (super duper small gingham) which I love! And I just can’t handle how fun the ruffle detailing is. Like I mentioned earlier, this style of top makes the outfit and is such an easy, fun option for day or a night out.

For this look, I went with these most fave jeans from Citizens of Humanity. These are actually from last season, but they made them again this season and I truly wear them nonstop! I love the high waist, the distressing at the knees and the fact that they are super skinny. They look really cute with sneakers too!

To kick up the look a bit, I added on this super fun star adorned Saint Laurent belt. You guys….I LOVE this belt!!! The western style buckle and the stars just kill me! It’s so fun, right?! I used it the other day in Vegas to belt a simple off the shoulder black dress and it was (and just is) the perf pop of fun.

For bag I wanted to add a pop of color, so I went with this studded Valentino mini. And for shoes I kept it so simple with these pumps from Jimmy Choo (also wear these nonstop as they have an ankle strap (which makes them super comfy/easy to walk in)). I accessorized a bit with some bracelets here and here and these glam Miu Miu sunnies.

So I basically am having a major moment with all these fab ruffled tops that are out (I am sure you have so noticed!), but I really think it’s a must try trend and one that everyone can do. If you aren’t into ruffles as dramatic as these in this top, I have included some below that are more mellow (but so just as fun). So grab your favorite denim (or take it daytime and grab a denim mini or some shorts), throw one of these tops and just try to tell me you don’t feel fabulous! 🙂
Here are some more super cute options:

Hope you all have a fab day today! I am off to lunch with one of my faves from college at South Coast and am so looking forward to a good catch up sesh and some girl time.

DAYTIME DRAMA

Hi guys! Happy Thursday! Today is my Friday as we are off to VEGAS today!! Our happy place! We have never been for March Madness and thought it would be a fun time to be there (slash we just need any excuse to go)!

Today I am sharing my obsession with this most fabulous dark floral ruffled top from Alexis (here it is in a light floral version). It stole my heart with the insane intricate detailing and the pretty mix of colors. I love the cold shoulder fit and the fact that the sleeves are sheer. As much as this would be a dreamy date night or night out look, I wanted to style it for day, so I went with this light wash denim skirt from Grlfrnd. If you read my blog on the regular, you know I have a major denim skirt problem. They are definitely a major trend for Spring and Summer and are just so wearable. This one fits like a dream as it’s higher waisted and the perfect length. Here is a version from Topshop and here is one from Forever 21 (both a bit more cost worthy).

To keep this look super simple, I went with my black Chloe wedges, these round Ray bans and then I added a fun pop of color with my red Celine nano. Like I said, I wanted to show how this top could be a fun option for day, so those pieces make it a fun and easy look for lunch with the girls or a day of shopping.

This season is allllll about the dramatic top, so it’s so fun to try wearing them different ways. Don’t be afraid to throw one on for daytime as it really is such a fun look! And the best part is that you can easily transition them into night by switching to a dressier skirt (black leather with this top would be amazing!) or a skinny dark denim and heels.

Here are a bunch of other fun floral and/or dramatic tops:

Hope you all have a fab day today! I can barely handle myself as I am just so ready to be at the Wynn, drink in hand, playing some Dolly Parton slots, you know, just living life! Insert the dancing red dress emoji girl here!

Happy Thursday + weekend, happy shopping! xo, Caro

SPRINGY FAVES

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday! Quick post today just sharing some of the Springy things I am currently eyeing. Hope you are all having a good week and happy shopping!
