Casual Chic With White House Black Market

Hi friends! Today I am sharing a fun and easy date night look from one of my go-to retailers, White House Black Market. Whenever I am on the search for affordable, but casual chic pieces, it is one of my first stops.

Casual Chic Date Night with White House Black Market

If you know me well, you know that Colby and I adore our date nights! One of the great things about living in California is that everywhere here is pretty casual and jeans are always a good idea. When we do spontaneous weeknight dates, I like to keep it super simple and comfy, like I did with this look today.

I saw this FAB white top while shopping online and had to have it! The slightly oversized fit and big billowy sleeves just scream comfort (while still looking so cute). For our date night, I styled it with jeans, but I have also worn it with a simple cream mini skirt and also with denim cutoffs! It comes in black too and I am now thinking I need that color too. You can just never have too many tops like this in your closet!

After I added the top to cart, I knew I needed some new jeans to finish off my look. I have so many pairs that are overly distressed (and sometimes those just aren’t good for restaurants), so I looked for a new pair of simple, dark ones. I found this pair and fell in love with the cropped and skinny fit. I mean, so simple but so fab! Plus the price is so good (on sale $49).

A few simple accessories, a good front tuck and I am ready for all things fish tacos and skinny margs! I just love the comfort, but casual chicness of this look. I can wear both pieces so many ways too! These jeans will be so great with a graphic tee & a pair of sneakers for daytime errands or with a camisole + blazer for a more finished look. So easy, so good!

I love that I could find all of this look in one place on White House Black Markets site. I shopped around and here are a few more pieces (including my top & jeans) from their current collection that I am loving!

So many fun, wearable pieces! Also, I am wearing a XS in the top and my normal size in the jeans, so I would say they both run TTS.

My Nordstrom Anniversary Favorites

Hi friends! It’s that FABULOUS time of year when Nordy’s introduces brand new items and they are on sale. I mean, what could be better? I truly love this sale as they always do a great job of marking pieces you can really use in your closet.

Instead of sharing it ALL with you, I am really only including pieces I think are great and worth buying. I went in on Wednesday and shopped in store and then took time today to shop it again online. I took a bunch of mirror selfies at the store and then did more at home of the items I bought. My basic thought with this sale is, stick to what you really think you will wear (instead of just buying it because its “on sale”) For me, that ended up being a couple pairs of jeans, some basic tops, a blazer and two pairs of shoes. Thats it! I did not love any of the boots this year and I didn’t see any coats I loved either.

So without further adieu, below are two grids of mirror selfies. First, the ones I took in store and second, the ones I took at home (that way you can see what I actually bought). I will be breaking all of the home outfits in my stories, so be sure to go watch (on my Instagram).

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Favorites

Noteable mentions from in store: I ADORE the oversized camel knit. It comes in black and brown too and honestly will be such a staple all Fall and Winter. I let my sister in law (who was visiting) take that back with her, but ordered one for myself (just telling you guys so you understand why it’s not in my home try on). Also noteable is the sparkly midi skirt. I really love it, I just did not buy it as I have so many of that style. But if you are in market for one, I love the length and easy fit. Last, I am wearing my normal size in the Levis and the Frame jeans, but I sized up one in the Paige ones.

Noteable mentions from my home sesh: I trimmed the Levi’s about 3 inches to get the more cropped fit. I think they are more flattering this way, but that’s 100% my opinion! The oversized grey cardi comes in a tan neutral too and ugh, its just heavenly! Also, there were probably 4 or 5 options for a leopard cardigan included in the sale. I chose this particular one because it’s a lighter weight and I love the longer length. I promise you will love it!

And here are all those above items as well as few others I saw online and loved

Happy Shopping! And please do not hesitate to message or DM me on Insta about sizing etc.
